Abstract:
With there being so many different definitions of the word dream, and it being so vague. I wanted to focus it on one thing, which would be my major in Interior design. Through this 15 week research process, I’ve looked for what happens in the creative mind of an interior designer. In the Unconscious State of Mind, as well as if it has affected their work throughout their major and or career. Within my paper I mentioned myself being a participant of remembering my dreams and incorporating them in my designs. By the end of my research I resulted to find that dreams meant goals, inspiration, and an influence to my interviewees. This made the paper turn in a different direction but it became interesting to see a different perspective of the word “Dream.”

What does a Dream mean to you?

Dream: A series of images, ideas, emotions and sensations occurring involuntary in the mind during certain stages of sleep.
- A wild fancy or hope
- A day dream, trance
- A condition or achievement that is longed for; an aspiration

All of these come to mind when a person may think of the word dream. Now look at the two images below. Which one would you most likely want to own?

Questions:

1. When you hear the word dream what do you think of?

2. Describe your dream house?

3. How has time changed in the interior design field since you where younger?

Methodology:
- Research questions were written down to form questions for my participates. Most of which I didn’t know personally and others I did. So my interview with my interviewees didn’t affect my research in anyway.
- 5 people were interviewed face to face with me as I asked them questioned that helped cover my research paper. Two were my professors while the others were close friends of mine. They all contributed and answered the questions very well.

Findings:
I found out that more of my interviewees disagreed with the questions I asked about them reticulating what a dream meant. Also if they could usually remember their dreams, then use them in their life.
